watch this, watch that.
my go to wristwatch has been casio w800-h for the last... multiples of years.
I did have a garmin vivofit
about 100 years ago (at least what it feels like) after my grand-pa died, my grand-ma gave me his old wristwatch as a gift(a very heavy sentimental burden is what I want to address it as). it was an old omega seamaster that she had bought him at the beginning of their relationship, some hundreds of years ago.
I did purchase a timex... expedition something, it looked nice, was titanium case with sapphire glass, mechanical automatic... but it had a freaking glass backside (for some odd reason people want to see inside the insides of their watches... but I don't understand it as it'll be on your wrist 99% of the time and you won't see shit... and it adds thickness to the whole machine, baffles me.) adding to the small annoyance was the fact that it was loud, i'm quite sound sensitive, but whenever I took it off and put it down on a somewhat hollow surface, the sound would amplify and it would tick me off. (pun intended)
the smartwatches have too much features and too little batterylife.
the omega has enough features but it is also very old and requires manual winding (which lasts ~18hours on a full "charge").
the garmin was handed to my sister as she wanted to become more healthy and keep track of her steps.
now the casios is a pure fantastic gem, but I've bumped it against things a bit too much, so the screen is scraped and it has a tendency to randomly reset itself.
now the sane thing to do here would be to just buy a new casio, it's ~40€ over the counter in a store a 10 minute walk from the current chair I'm in.
according to my doctor I'm not fully sane, so my solution to all of this is to save money, a lot of money, to purchase myself another mechanical automatic watch. Vertex M36
hoping for it to be not as loud as the previous watch.
apparently there is a thing within the world of wristwatches called "the dirty dozen", 12 watch brands that agreed to build watches, that all fit specific criteria, which made them all pretty much look the same, this is a re-vamp of such a clock, Vertex was one of the 12 brands, and now they've come back alive.
I found that Omega was also part of these 12 brands, which made me wish to have a newly made Omega version of the watch.
