i follow a bunch of blogs via rss, today there was a post in one of them, that in turn linked to some other bloggers post, that post had 404'd (google it if you don't know what that means), i was a bit bummed as i wanted to read it.
as i'm writing this, which is about 5-10 minutes after i got the 404, i can't even remember what it was supposed to be about, can't possibly be anything of any importance of me, though i ended up searching a bit for it, thinking maybe just the link was faulty, i headed over to the blog, did a quick scan of the last 100 posts on the blog, couldn't find it, i did find a few other posts that had an interesting title (though any title would be interesting compared to the ones i use here...)
anywho, one of them resonated with an idea i have, something i've read in books, heard from people, read online, and now on that blog, i don't want to be at the forefront of technology, i want to go slowly, i want to master, i don't want to dabble, i want the boring stuff, i want to sit in the basement without anyone really knowing who i am nor what i do, they just know that when shit hits the fan, it's me they turn to, and i don't mean that in any literal sense, i don't want to be a janitor, nor do i want to be an IT janitor, i don't want to touch quickfixes, i don't want to fight fires.
i want to build things that last, if things break for some reason, some other person can fight the fire, do a quickfix, work all night and all that jolly good stuff, then give me a conclusion of what the actual problem was and i'll fix that.
the blog also had a post regarding writing and posting posts, so ehh, it got me thinking that i should do that, so ehh, here we are. this was the writing of the post. good bye.
